  2. Marriage License: You will need to obtain a marriage license from the local civil register, the Administration Communale in the commune where one of you resides. A notice of Marriage is needed, you’ll need to give notice of your intention to marry at the local register’s office; this is usually done at least 3 weeks before the wedding. If you or your spouse is a foreign national, you may need to meet additional requirements or get a certificate of no impediment from your home country.
  3. The documents required may vary depending on your nationality, but typically, you will need:
  • Proof of identity (passport or ID card)
  • Proof of residence
  • Birth certificates
  • Certificate of no impediment to marriage
