A notice of Marriage is needed, you’ll need to give notice of your intention to marry at the local register’s office; this is usually done at least 3 weeks before the wedding. If you or your spouse is a foreign national, you may need to meet additional requirements or get a certificate of no impediment from your home country.
3. The documents required may vary depending on your nationality, but typically, you will need:

• Proof of identity (passport or ID card)
• Proof of residence
• Birth certificates
• Certificate of no impediment to marriage

5. The weather in Luxembourg: It’s essential to consider the season when selecting a date for your wedding and make weather-related arrangements accordingly. Outdoor weddings are popular during the summer, while indoor venues are favored during the colder months.

Additionally, having a backup plan for outdoor weddings in case of unexpected rain is advisable. 6. Civil Ceremony: In Luxembourg, a civil ceremony is required for a legal marriage. This is usually held at the local town hall (Commune) and conducted by a civil servant. You can also have a religious or non-religious ceremony in addition to the civil one.

You may need an interpreter if you don’t speak these languages. Of course, you’ll need at least two adult witnesses who can understand the language of the ceremony.
